Jairo Barrull a gypsy dancer; is son of the legendary flamenco dancer Ramón Barrull and great nephew of Diego del Gastor. He made his first public appearance at ‘El Gazpacho Andaluz de Moron’ when he was just 7 years old. He performed for the Pope John Paul II in the Vatican when he was 13 and has performed at highly prestigious theatres all over the world including ‘Dansens Hus’, Stockholm and the ‘Theatre Avenida’, Argentina. Jairo has performed with flamenco dancers such as his father Ramón Barrull, Juana Amaya, Angelita Vargas, Concha Vargas, Farruquito, Carmen Cortes and Antonio El Pipa. He has also accompanied other great flamenco artists such as Gerado Núñez, Arcangel, El Chocolate, Aurora Vargas, Enrique Soto Sordera, Pansequito and Gabriel de la Tomasa.
Jairo has collabrated in countless flamenco shows including the diverse flamenco production ‘Incognito’ by world famous juggler Francis Brunn, which premiered at the Alte Oper of Frankfurt, Sinfonia Flamenca at the ‘Orchestre National de Lyon Auditorium and Magia de Maestros at the Berliner Philharmonie, where the press repeatedly named him ‘The Hope of Dance’. He has appeared on RTVE and appeared in the internationally screened flamenco documentary ‘Around Flamenco -The Streets of New York’. In 2010 Jairo presented his new flamenco show ‘Dos Ramas’ with guest artist Angelita Vargas in France at the XXII Festival Flamenco Mont de Marsan and participated in the 2010 USA tour of Festival Flamenco Gitano and the I Festival Flamenco of Moscow 2011. Currently Jairo is presenting his new show ‘Barrull’, which will premiere in El Monte, Cajasol, The Thursdays Flamencos this summer.
