Hi Hope you are keeping well. Thanks for all the lovely press over the last two years. I thought you might like to hear the new SuperGlu single, as you've been so supportive in the past. It's already enjoying a bit of national radio play and it made Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist. Not too bad for a band who are still (perversely) choosing to slum it on a part-time, DIY record label operating out of a bedroom on a council estate in the 13th most depressing place to live in the UK (that’s Ipswich, according to this: http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/the-13-unhappiest-places-to-live-in-britain-a7687486.html) In view of the above, any coverage would cheer us all up enormously. All the best, Jason (antigen records) Artist: SuperGlu Track: Simmer Down Released by: antigen records Impact date: 28/4/17 iTunes: https://itun.es/gb/Mya7ib Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/album/3EM6r9RZwbR2kyZ9V7wnID Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/antigenrecords/superglu-simmer-down-1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/supergluband/ (@supergluband) Twitter: @SuperGlu_band Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/supergluband/ Late summer 2014 - an abstract painter, a disco-dancing sociologist, a boat-dwelling weed-hermit and an insurance salesman find themselves with nothing better to do in Manningtree than to form a band. Two and a half years later, they are playing a sold-out showcase for BBC Music and the Department of International Trade at SxSW in Austin, Texas and being described as one of the most exciting forces in British guitar music. SuperGlu is Ben Brown (voice and guitar), Krista Lynch (bass and voice), Alex Brown (guitar and voice) and Ben Ward (drums and voice). The self-styled “bubblegum rock” four-piece struck it lucky from the start, when their first demo (under the name Ben Club) was picked up by Huw Stephens and broadcast on Radio 1 before they had even played a gig. Debut single Diving Bell was released in April 2015, with their first festival appearance at Latitude later that summer, only nine months after they first formed. Their Horse EP in February 2016 triggered an upsurge of online interest (including features in Clash and DIY), airplay on Radio One, 6 Music and Radio X, headlining shows on the Introducing stages at Leeds and Reading festivals and a return trip to play Latitude at the invitation of Keith Allen. Rounding off the year in style, their breakthrough single Dreams was championed by Huw, with multiple plays on his Radio One show. It made Spotify UK’s New Music Friday playlist, the Amazing Radio A-list and became a fixture in the Best of Introducing playlist for more than three months. Now, after a run of blistering shows in Austin, they find themselves with a brand new single out on antigen records, looking forward to a third appearance at Latitude and their first trip to mainland Europe. Simmer Down is an early taste of their new EP Fig. It has already received airplay from Huw Stephens, Steve Lamacq, Tom Robinson and John Kennedy and made Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist (on 14 April 2017), where it jostles for attention with Snoop Dogg and Kendrick Lamar. Quotes: “Bands don’t come more instantly infectious than SuperGlu. On their new ‘Horse’ EP… they affix their crunching indie-pop to pin-sharp melody in a manner that’s every bit as unshakeable as that band name might suggest.” - DIY “Making Suffolk proud one chord at a time” – Huw Stephens Live dates: 29 April - Volcom Castle Rock Out, Kaprun, Austria 25th May - Dingwalls, London (supporting Get Inuit) 28th May - The Sound of Colchester Festival, Essex 10th June - TBA, London 29th June - TBA, London 7th July - WOW Music Festival, Norfolk 14th July - Latitude Festival, Suffolk 21st-23rd July - Nozstock, Herefordshire 10th-12th August - Leefest, Kent
