Papa Roach - Crooked Teeth

Papa Roach have been around for years, and quite rightly so. They’ve never wavered from their signature sound, and they’ve remained consistent throughout their entire career. The album begins with Break The Fall which starts slowly, breaks into a rap, and then opens up into a monster chorus. What a way to start. Following on from that is the title track Crooked Teeth which is much less subtle than the first, and a lot heavier. Only two tracks in and if you’re not hooked by now, you should check your pulse. It’s unmistakably Papa Roach, and what’s more, it’s another quality album that features all the trademarks that make them so recognisable. Catchy songs? Check. Sing-a-long choruses? Check. Anger and aggression? Check. The band have always got something to say though, and among all the music are some thought-provoking lyrics, and while not being an overly political band, they do reference some of the more prominent issues in the world. Periscope featuring Skylar Grey is a beautiful ballad and it sticks out for that reason, with haunting vocals and a stripped back sound, and following on from that is probably the catchiest song on the album, namely Help. To put it quite simply, this album is exceptionally good.
